AI Policy

This Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy has been designed for children’s homes to support full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the associated Children’s Homes Quality Standards, and relevant data protection legislation.

The policy provides clear, practical guidance for staff on the appropriate and safe use of AI tools and technologies in the workplace. It outlines expectations for ethical use, data protection, confidentiality, and safeguarding, including the risks associated with sharing personal or sensitive information. The policy also sets out requirements for staff training, supervision, and approval processes for AI use, ensuring that AI tools are used responsibly and only when they support safe and effective care. The policy emphasises accountability, transparency, and the need to balance innovation with safeguarding and privacy.

Provided as an editable Word document (digital download), the policy enables services to tailor content to their individual home, digital systems, and operational practices while maintaining regulatory and safeguarding compliance.
