Care and Placement Plans
This Care and Placement Plans Policy has been designed for children’s homes to support full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the associated Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
The policy provides clear, practical guidance for staff on developing, implementing and reviewing individual care and placement plans that meet the needs of each child or young person. It outlines requirements for assessment, goal setting, risk management, and collaborative working with the child, their family, local authority and relevant professionals. The policy emphasises the importance of person-centred planning, promoting independence, wellbeing and positive outcomes, while ensuring safeguarding, regular review and accurate record keeping.
These documents are guidance only and must be adapted to reflect each home’s individual practices. Providers are responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted expectations.
