Equality and Diversity Policy

This Equality and Diversity Policy has been designed for children’s homes to support full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the associated Children’s Homes Quality Standards, as well as relevant equality legislation.

The policy provides clear, practical guidance for staff on promoting equality, valuing diversity and ensuring fair treatment for all children, young people, staff and visitors. It outlines expectations for inclusive practice, anti-discrimination, respect for individual differences, and proactive measures to prevent bias or inequality. The policy emphasises creating a culture of dignity and respect, promoting positive relationships, and ensuring that services are accessible, responsive and reflective of the diverse needs of children and young people.
