Fire Safety Policy
This Fire Safety Policy has been designed for children’s homes to support full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, the associated Children’s Homes Quality Standards, and relevant fire safety legislation.
The policy provides clear, practical guidance for staff on fire prevention, detection, and response to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, staff and visitors. It outlines procedures for risk assessment, fire drills, evacuation routes, alarm testing, maintenance of equipment, and safe assembly points. The policy also sets out responsibilities for staff training, recording of incidents and regular checks, and ensures that all actions are in line with regulatory requirements and best practice.
These documents are guidance only and must be adapted to reflect each home’s individual practices. Providers are responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted expectations.
