Internet and Social Media Use Policy

This Internet and Social Media Use Policy has been designed to support full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the associated Children’s Homes Quality Standards.

The policy provides clear, practical guidance for staff and children/young people on safe, responsible and appropriate use of the internet and social media. It outlines expectations for online behaviour, digital boundaries, privacy, and safeguarding, including how to recognise and report online risks such as cyberbullying, exploitation and inappropriate contact. The policy also sets out staff responsibilities for supervision, monitoring, consent, use of devices, and recording concerns, ensuring a balanced approach that supports independence while protecting wellbeing and safety.
