Children's Sexual Exploitation Policy
This Children’s Sexual Exploitation Policy has been designed for children’s homes to support full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the associated Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
The policy provides clear, practical guidance for staff on recognising, preventing and responding to concerns relating to children and young people who may be at risk of, or experiencing, sexual exploitation. It outlines indicators of exploitation, risk assessment and safeguarding procedures, including how to report concerns, work with partner agencies, and support young people in a trauma-informed and non-judgemental way. The policy emphasises the importance of early intervention, safety planning, consent, confidentiality, and ensuring that responses prioritise the wellbeing and protection of the child or young person.
These documents are guidance only and must be adapted to reflect each home’s individual practices. Providers are responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted expectations.
