Notifiable Events Policy
This Notifiable Events Policy has been designed to support full compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015, including Regulation 40, and the associated Children’s Homes Quality Standards.
The policy provides clear, practical guidance for staff and managers on identifying, recording and notifying relevant authorities of notifiable events in a timely and appropriate manner. It sets out responsibilities, reporting timescales, internal escalation processes and record-keeping requirements, ensuring transparency, accountability and effective safeguarding. The policy emphasises learning from incidents, regulatory compliance and the ongoing protection and welfare of children and young people.
These documents are guidance only and must be adapted to reflect each home’s individual practices. Providers are responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with legislation, regulations, and Ofsted expectations.
