Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Misuse Policy

This Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking and Substance Misuse Policy has been specifically designed for children’s homes to support compliance with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards. 

The policy provides clear guidance for staff on preventing and managing substance misuse while prioritising safeguarding, health, wellbeing and proportionate responses. It outlines expectations for adults, visitors and children, includes procedures for intoxication, smoking, volatile substances, recording and risk assessment, and promotes education and early intervention.
